NHS Highlands Telehealth Project Manager Lynn Garrett was given recognition for her outstanding achievements implementing telehealth technology on the remote Scottish island, and the remarkable improvements in patient health made by telehealth. 15 HomePods were given to patients with chronic obstructive lung disorders (COPD), who showed a 90% reduction in emergency hospital admissions and time spent in hospital.
Ms. Garrett enthused: "we were delighted to welcome Ms Sturgeon to bute and give her an update on the telehealth project, which has proven a real success in streamlining services on the island."
The project is using Telehealth Solutions' HomePod, which allows patients to measure their blood pressure, oxygen saturation, send the measurements and communicate with their carer about their condition instantly and electronically from the comfort of their own home, keeping them safe, supported and in control of their condition.
